Rooms and facilities

As a resident of any of the colleges, you will have a single bedroom with air-conditioning, a desk, desk chair and cupboards. Students are required to bring their own linen, with a bed frame, mattress and mattress protector provided. Students are also able to bring a small fridge to have in their room if it has been tested and tagged by a registered electrician. There are different bathroom arrangements depending on what college you reside in.

Common rooms and kitchens

Each block has a shared space, known as a common room, generally shared between 10 and 30 people. These common rooms have TVs, couches, and basic kitchenette.

In addition to block common rooms, there are also self-catered cooking facilities available throughout the Colleges. You will have your own lockable cabinet in your allocated kitchen to store food and cooking utensils. You will also have access to shared appliances, including ovens, refrigerators and freezers as well as a microwave, toaster and kettle.

Shared kitchen facilities

Concannon and McGregor A-G and K blocks have a large central kitchen shared between 106 and 140 people respectively.

McGregor H, I and J blocks and all Steele Rudd rooms have self-catered kitchens shared between 5 and 20 people, depending on the block configuration.

The self-cater kitchen facilities gives you the ability to cook your own meals at any time of the day or night. You will have your own lockable cabinet in the kitchen. You will also have access to shared appliances, including refrigerators and freezers as well as a microwave, toaster and kettle. You must provide your own food, kitchen items/utensils and cleaning supplies.

There are on campus food outlets to purchase meals and study snacks from.

Our colleges have some great facilities available to help you relax and maintain a healthy lifestyle. There are large open grassed areas available throughout the colleges that can be used for sport. Large 75-inch TV's are in all Recreation Halls, along with items such as table tennis and pool tables. A BBQ area is also provided at Steele Rudd College, for use by all residents.

All bedrooms have wireless internet access. If you have your own computer, you can access the internet through the 精东传媒app’s network in your bedroom. Wireless internet is also available in the common rooms and the dining halls. Otherwise, UniSQ’s 24-hour computer labs are located on campus just a few minutes’ walk from your college.

Internet costs are included in your rent.

UniSQ phones, including Emergency Call Points (ECPs), are available throughout the colleges. Generally, these phones can call internal UniSQ phone numbers are no cost. Residents are responsible for providing their own mobile phone or other devices.

You are responsible for your own laundry using the washing machines and dryers conveniently located throughout the residential blocks. These are free to operate though we require you to bring your own liquid laundry detergent and clothes pegs. Clotheslines are provided for your convenience, along with irons and ironing boards in the laundries.

A professional cleaning service is provided to maintain common areas, kitchens, and bathroom facilities as part of your college fees. The private ensuite and shared ensuite bathrooms are cleaned once a week by our cleaning team, with the shared bathrooms cleaned daily. You're required to keep your own bedroom clean, with access to vacuum cleaners available in block common spaces and regular room inspections completed.

Our UniSQ maintenance team are available to fix any issues throughout our accommodation facilities. Residents are able to log maintenance requests through our . If maintenance is required urgently or poses a risk to safety it needs to be reported to the Residential Colleges Administration team, or a member of the Collegiate Team as soon as possible on +61 7 4631 2950 (all hours).

We provide complimentary outdoor car parking at each of the colleges. There are also bike racks located at all three of our colleges though you will need provide your own bike lock.
