Pre-requisite: Students must be enrolled in one of the following Programs: DPHD, DPEN or MENR
Overview
Students undertaking a Research Higher Degree in the field of Engineering investigate in depth a specialised area from the range of disciplines. Each student requires advanced background knowledge and skills to successfully complete the research. This course will enable students to acquire such knowledge and skills, relevant to their individual research project.
In this course, students will study specialised topics to support their research project in Engineering. These topics may be drawn from practical elements such as data acquisition, numerical elements such as software packages and/or theoretical elements. Each topic will comprise one portion of the course, with students typically undertaking four topics to complete their study of this course. These topics will be chosen in consultation with a student's supervisory team. The schedule for any learning sessions will be arranged by the relevant staff member. This will enable students to pursue their Research Higher Degree with some supporting advanced background knowledge and skills.
Course learning outcomes
On successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- appraise discipline-specific content and skills to develop a research project in their specialisation of Engineering.
