Synopsis
This course will expand upon basic knowledge and theories of child development to explore the characteristics, epidemiology, causes, and treatment of psychopathology in children and adolescents. Students will engage with the course material via personal reading and critical reflection, discussion and debate in class and on-line, and through experiential skill development in three two-day mandatory workshops. Knowledge and skills will be assessed via a case-study based in-class test, and an essay and workshop presentation covering an evidence-based therapy for a particular presenting concern/group.
