Program focus
This Honours program also serves as the first year of a two-year
Masters program, and may be taken in only one of four strands: Solo
Performance, Studio Teaching, Instrumental/Vocal Accompaniment or
Orchestral Studies (practical). In addition to intensive work in one
of the four streams, the program includes courses in Ensemble Music
(practical), Structural Analysis and Music, Research and Scholarship.
Program aims
The program aims to produce graduates who have specialised and
advanced training in the areas of music performance, music teaching,
accompaniment or orchestral playing. They will also have the intellectual
and practical skills necessary to apply knowledge in further study,
research, employment, and community service.

Admission requirements
Students completing with a grade point average of 5/7 in a Bachelor of Music degree or a Bachelor of Arts
degree from USQ or another recognised university (with
at least 60 per cent of their program in Music) may be admitted to
the Bachelor of Music (Honours). Applicants will be required to attend
an interview and audition at which they will demonstrate on their
chosen instrument or voice a conceptual understanding of the works
they perform as well as technical fluency, a high standard of aural
perception, as well as a sound knowledge of musical forms and music
literature. An aptitude for their chosen specialisation must also
be demonstrated.

Program structure
The Bachelor of Music (Honours) program consists of eight units
of study and comprises two core courses and four major courses. 精东传媒app

Core courses
A core course is central to the achievement of the objectives
of the program. The courses provide a basic understanding of some
principal issues relating to music study at postgraduate level. The
core courses in the program are MUS4000 and MUS4001 .
Major studies
A Major 精东传媒app is a compulsory group of courses having not less
than four units in value within the program and is designed to provide
students with a variety of essential skills and an appropriate range
and depth of knowledge for the chosen discipline. The major courses
in the Bachelor of Music (Honours) are either in Music Performance
(Solo, Accompanist or Orchestral Playing) or Music Teaching.
