Program focus
This program provides students with the opportunity to acquire
a professional qualification in the practice of journalism across
different media. It is aimed at students who want to master the skills
and techniques of writing for a mass audience, and assumes they have
no professional or academic qualifications in journalism or a related
field.
Program aims
The Graduate Diploma of Journalism is a professional conversion
program which aims to produce graduates who have an advanced understanding
and appreciation of the requirements of a selected professional field
and have the intellectual and practical skills necessary to apply
knowledge in further study, research, employment, and community service.
Students are advised that the program comprises courses from the undergraduate
major in Journalism.
Program objectives
On successful completion of the program students should demonstrate:

of scholarship and research in general and of Journalism in particular

Journalism.
Admission requirements
Entry Requirements to the Graduate Diploma of Journalism shall
be a three-year Bachelor degree or equivalent at pass level or better.
Applicants who have completed an undergraduate major in Journalism
within the last 10 years are not eligible to apply.
