Program focus
This program enables students to further specialise in teaching
(studio) or performing (solo, accompaniment or orchestral playing).
Teaching students undertake advanced study in instrumental or vocal
pedagogy and teaching experience, and further develop their solo and
ensemble playing. Performance students undertake advanced study in
recital work, concerto or opera roles and further develop their ensemble
playing. Students also prepare a dissertation on a specific aspect
of their studies.
Program aims
The program aims to produce graduates who will have a specialised
and advanced training in the areas of either music performance or
music teaching, who will have the ability to evaluate musical performance
and will have developed standards of musical criticism. Graduates
will also have developed their intellectual, expressive and executant
abilities in relation to music performance or teaching to a very high
standard.
Program objectives
On successful completion of the program students should demonstrate:

specific topic in written and oral forms through the presentation
of a dissertation

concepts in a coherent, lucid and rational fashion.
Admission requirements
Students completing with a grade point average of 5/7 a degree or a Bachelor of Arts
degree at USQ or another recognised university (with
at least 60 per cent of their program in Music) may be admitted to

in the Bachelor of Music (Honours) with at least a credit level pass
in either Teaching or Performing may be admitted to the Master degree.

Program structure
The Master of Music program consists of 16 units of study. It
comprises two core courses and 10 major courses. 精东传媒app is available

Students have a maximum of 5 years to complete this program.
Core courses
A core course is central to the achievement of the objectives
of the program. The courses provide a basic understanding of some
principal issues relating to music study at postgraduate level. The
core courses in the program are MUS4000 and MUS4001 .
Major studies
A Major 精东传媒app is a compulsory group of courses having not less
than four units in value within the program and is designed to provide
students with a variety of essential skills and an appropriate range
and depth of knowledge for the chosen discipline. The major courses
in the Master of Music degree are either in Music Performance (Solo,
Accompaniment or Orchestral Playing) or Music Teaching.
