Program focus
The focus of this program is providing a high-level, vocationally oriented program for students who already have a Business degree. The graduate will have sufficient theoretical and empirical understanding to enable them to identify and resolve business challenges in their professions.

Program objectives
On successful completion of the Master of Management program, students will be able to:

demonstrate an understanding of the basic theories and skills of a contemporary management discipline area

display competence in areas relevant to management practice at senior levels

apply their knowledge of current behavioural, policy and strategic issues in order to improve organisational efficiency
-
use written communication skills to interact effectively with other people at superior or lower work levels

analyse developments in a chosen area of management and critically evaluate relationships between such developments and contemporary theory and practice
-
further enhance their managerial skills through a commitment to ongoing managerial development
-
specialise in a particular discipline to enhance their career prospects.
Admission requirements
Candidates for the Master of Management program must meet each of the following criteria to the satisfaction of the Director of Coursework Studies:

a tertiary, Business qualification at degree or equivalent level from a recognised institution
-
2 years full-time work experience, as determined by the Director of Coursework Studies.
Candidates who do not have a degree will be permitted to enrol in the Postgraduate Certificate in Business only, provided that they have a minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent work experience, which includes relevant experience, as determined by the Director of Coursework Studies. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they will be eligible to articulate into the Master of Management.

on the courses that are taken. You are able to calculate the fees

Domestic full fee paying students
may be eligible to defer their fees through a Government loan called provided they meet the residency and citizenship
requirements.
Australian citizens, Permanent Humanitarian Visa
holders, Permanent Resident visa holders and New Zealand citizens
who will be resident outside Australia for the duration of their program
pay full tuition fees and are not eligible for .

Program structure
Students are required to successfully complete 12 single-unit courses of study as follows:

a minimum of 8 courses chosen from courses listed in the Master of Management program
-
a maximum of 4 other management or management-related courses in the Master of Business Administration program or offered by any Faculty at USQ, subject to enrolment requirements, approved by the Director of Coursework Studies, and, in the case of courses from another Faculty, approval from that Faculty.
If a student wishes to have a specialisation noted on their testamur, they must complete the requirements of that specialisation or where no specific requirements are defined, a minimum of 4 courses from that specialisation.
Note: Depending upon the relationship between a candidate's undergraduate degree and Discipline Specialisation, the Director of Coursework Studies, may require the candidate to enrol in one or more of the courses listed as Other Studies.

Students wishing to complete a project as part of the program must first obtain permission from the Director of Coursework Studies before enrolling in or . Enrolment in the project courses are contingent upon the availability of a suitable supervisor.

Articulation
It is possible for students who do not meet standard admission requirements to articulate into the Master of Management from the Postgraduate Certificate in Business. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they will be eligible to articulate into the Master of Management.
Students who wish to articulate to the higher award must lodge an application for entry to the relevant program.
Exit points
Students who do not maintain good standing in this program will be permitted to exit with a lesser qualification as set out below, provided that they have met the requirements of that program.

A student who successfully completes 8 Master of Management units may upon application, exit with a Postgraduate Diploma in Business. A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of at least one specialisation may have one specialisation shown on their testamur.

A student who successfully completes all requirements for the Postgraduate Certificate in Business may upon application, exit with that qualification. A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of a 4-unit specialisation may have that specialisation shown on their testamur.
Exemptions
Candidates for admission to the Master of Management may be eligible for a maximum of 6 units of exemption on the basis of prior successful completion of relevant, equivalent postgraduate study from a recognised university or institution offering equivalent study. In order for an exemption to be granted, the claim must meet the following specific requirements:

the course passed was taken at least at Masters or equivalent level
-
the course was passed within 5 years prior to the application (courses up to 10 years old may be considered if evidence is provided that the applicant has been employed in that field)
-
the course passed is equivalent in objectives, content and weightings to a course prescribed in the Master of Management course, or alternatively, the course is suitable as an elective.
Claims for exemptions should be submitted prior to or at the time of enrolment in a course. Each claim will be assessed on individual merit in line with the Faculty’s exemption policies. Exemptions approved in this program will not automatically apply to other programs offered by USQ.
