Program focus
The Diploma of Science (Environment and Sustainability) equips
students with the necessary knowledge of the fundamental environmental
concepts that can be applied in the professional public and private
industry workplace to assist in the management of natural resources
in a sustainable manner.
Career opportunities
Completion of the program will allow students to articulate
into the Bachelor of Science (Resource and Environmental Management)
offered by the Australian National 精东传媒app (ANU) or complete a
Bachelor of Science (Environment and Sustainability) at USQ. Students
will be given credit for all successfully completed courses.
Program aims
The program aims to provide an articulation pathway for students
into the Australian National 精东传媒app Bachelor of Science (Resource
and Environmental Management). This is a generalist program providing
students with the knowledge of fundamental concepts in environment
and sustainability.
Program objectives
On completion of this program graduates will have

acquired sufficient knowledge in this discipline to make an
informed choice about further undergraduate study in the USQ Faculty
of Sciences or at ANU.
Admission requirements
To be eligible for a place in this program, applicants will
have achieved a level of Sound Achievement over four semesters in
Queensland Senior (Year 12) English or equivalent.
How to apply
Domestic students
may be made through the Queensland
Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). The same procedure applies whether
you plan to study on-campus or by distance education.
If you completed Year 12 at a Queensland secondary school you
will be assessed for entry on the basis of your Overall Position (OP)
or equivalent score. Year 12 students from other states or territories
are considered for entry on the basis of their UAI, ENTER or TER and
the subject prerequisites indicated. Other applicants will be based
on their overall Rank.

Australian citizens, Permanent Humanitarian Visa
holders, Permanent Resident visa holders and New Zealand citizens

Environment and Sustainability
The Diploma of Science (Environment and Sustainability) equips
students with the necessary knowledge of the fundamental environmental
concepts that can be applied in the professional public and private
industry work place to assist in the management of natural resources
in a sustainable manner.

External students are required to attend a residential school
in Toowoomba as part of

Articulation
Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Science (Environment
and Sustainability) students have the opportunity to articulate directly
into bachelor degree programs at either USQ or the ANU.
To articulate to ANU鈥檚 (Resource and Environmental Management),
a candidate must be a domestic student, have successfully completed
the 8-course ANU pathway recommended enrolment, and have a Grade Point
Average (GPA) of 5.5 or more.
To articulate to USQ鈥檚 Bachelor of Science (Environment
and Sustainability) candidates must have successfully completed the
Diploma of Science (Environment and Sustainability).
Exemptions
Students articulating into the USQ BSCI Bachelor of Science(Environment and Sustainability) or ANU will be given exemptions for eight courses completed as part of
the Diploma of Science (Environment and Sustainability).
