Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (Secondary)
Students are able to enrol in any offered mode of a course (on-campus, external or online), regardless of the program mode of study they enrolled in.
This minor is only available to students who are studying
the Bachelor of Education.
A minor Teaching
Area in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies provides opportunities
to examine important events from various points of view to ensure
that all perspectives are represented. By understanding that there
are various ways of viewing the world, it will help to identify and
address prejudice and racism.
Students wishing to teach Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander Studies as a Teaching Area must complete
a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 Teaching Area courses. Students
beginning in 2014 or later are required to complete at least 4 content
courses and 1 Teaching Area specific curriculum and pedagogy course.
Once employed, in most schools it would be expected that you could
teach Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, 精东传媒app of Society
and/or Social and Community Studies for years 11 and 12. Please refer

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies can only be undertaken
as a minor Teaching Area.
