Professional accreditation
The Bachelor of Midwifery Graduate Entry is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia () and upon successful completion, students will be eligible for entry on the Australian Health Practitioner Register as a Midwife.
Program aims
The Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) aims to prepare midwives who meet current and future requirements of contemporary midwifery practice. This program is designed according to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2006). Graduates will possess a range of skills to work autonomously and where appropriate, with other members of the inter-professional team in a variety of maternity settings or models of care. Graduates will be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency ().

Admission requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

A Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a Bachelor degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification with current AHPRA registration.

English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 3.

Requirements for professional experience placements
Practical experience is an integral component of the program and each student is required to undertake and satisfactorily complete 1320 hours of practical experience.
Progression into practical courses is dependent upon a pass grade in theoretical and other practical courses which have been set as prerequisites.
Applicants must be willing to undertake and submit the requirements of the 精东传媒app of Southern Queensland and Queensland Health for practical placement. Please refer to the applicable for Nursing and Midwifery Students.

Program structure
The Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) comprises of 16 units/16 courses that all must be successfully completed to finish this degree. In particular, to graduate with the Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) students will be required to successfully complete:

Midwifery practice experience courses by attending three (3) compulsory residential schools; and

All unpaid midwifery practice experience requirements of this degree through the midwifery practice experience courses
Required time limits
Students can complete the program in a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 5 years.
Electives/Approved courses
There are no elective courses in this degree. All courses need to be undertaken to meet external accreditation and to be eligible to register as a midwife.
IT requirements
Students should refer to USQ to check that their computers are capable of running the appropriate software and versions of Internet web browsers and to check the minimum and recommended standards for software. Students will need internet access to retrieve course materials, undertake assessment and participate in course online activities.

There will be three (3) Residential Schools that will be conducted. For full-time students these will occur in at the start of semesters 1 and 2 in the first year and semester 1 of year two. Attendance at each three (3) day Residential School is compulsory. Students unable to attend must withdraw from the associated course. Residential schools will be conducted at the Ipswich campus.
