Program aims
The Master of Business is an advanced academic program for graduates of any discipline or for students with extensive relevant business experience. This program aims to develop generic business skills and to extend those in a specialised area.
Program objectives
Upon completion of the Master of Business, students will be able to:

demonstrate underlying knowledge of the theoretical structure underpinning their chosen area of specialisation

apply those theoretical principles in business

apply a range of management skills relevant to their specialisation.
Admission requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
Admission to the Master of Business degree will be available to graduates with an approved bachelor degree as deemed sufficient and appropriate on application.
Candidates who do not have a degree may be permitted to enrol in the Postgraduate Certificate of Business, provided that they have a minimum of three years' full-time equivalent work experience, which includes relevant experience as deemed sufficient and appropriate on application. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they will be eligible to articulate into the Master of Business.
All students are required to satisfy the applicable .
If students do not meet the English language requirements they may apply to study a ¾«¶«´«Ã½app-approved . On successful completion of the English language program, students may be admitted to an award program.
Program fees
Domestic full fee paying place
Domestic full fee paying places are funded entirely through the full fees paid by the student. Full fees vary depending on the courses that are taken. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the
Domestic full fee paying students may be eligible to defer their fees through a Government loan called provided they meet the residency and citizenship requirements.
Australian citizens, Permanent Humanitarian Visa holders, Permanent Resident visa holders and New Zealand citizens who will be resident outside Australia for the duration of their program pay full tuition fees and are not eligible for .

Program structure
The program is comprised of 12 units. A student must complete one specialisation (which will appear on their testamur).
Note: It is assumed that students, when selecting 8000 level courses, have a basic knowledge in these areas (either from their undergraduate degree or from relevant work experience)

Articulation
It is possible for students who do not meet standard admission requirements to articulate into the Master of Business from the Postgraduate Certificate of Business. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they will be eligible to articulate into the Master of Business.
Students who wish to articulate to the higher award must lodge an application for entry to the relevant program.
Exit points
A student who chooses not to complete or who does not maintain good standing in this program will be permitted to exit with a lesser qualification as set out below, provided that they have met the requirements of that program.

A student who successfully completes 8 Master of Business units may, upon application, exit with a Postgraduate Diploma of Business. A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of at least one specialisation may have one specialisation shown on their testamur.

A student who successfully completes all requirements for the Postgraduate Certificate of Business may, upon application, exit with that qualification. A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of a 4-unit specialisation may have that specialisation shown on their testamur.
Credit
Candidates for admission to the Master of Business may be eligible for a maximum of six units of credit. With the approval of the Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts, credit may include up to four units of credit, to be granted on the basis of prior successful completion of relevant undergraduate study, where a student is studying a specialisation in the same or similar discipline as their undergraduate study.
Credit granted for equivalent postgraduate study from a recognised university or institution must meet the following specific requirements:

the course passed was taken at least at Masters or equivalent level

the course was passed within five years prior to the application (courses up to 10 years old may be considered if evidence is provided that the applicant has been employed in that field) and
-
the course passed is equivalent in objectives, content and weightings to a course prescribed in the Master of Business course, or alternatively, the course is suitable as an elective.
Applicants for enrolment in the Master of Business (Property) who are graduates of the Diploma in Property Development can gain an additional credit if they have completed the relevant assessment requirements. Full details can be obtained from the Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts.
Claims for credit should be submitted prior to or at the time of enrolment in a course. Each claim will be assessed on individual merit in line with USQ policy. Credit approved in this program will not automatically apply to other programs offered by USQ. Please contact the Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts for further information.
Note: Where credit is granted, maximum and minimum duration will be adjusted in the same proportion as credit, for example, where six units of credit is granted, maximum time will be three years and minimum duration will be two semesters.
