Professional accreditation
The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) is fully accredited by the as a four-year sequence of study. Graduates are eligible to apply for provisional registration as a Psychologist with the . Those who complete the four-year Honours program may also be eligible to go on to complete further studies at the Masters level with the aim of gaining specialist registration (e.g., clinical psychologist).
Graduates are also eligible to apply to the Australian Psychological Society for Associate Membership.
Program aims
The program aims to produce graduates who possess the qualities outlined in the USQ Graduate Attributes, who have developed a strong knowledge base in the discipline, who are proficient researchers, who possess the professional competencies expected of graduates by the Psychology Board of Australia and the , and who are able to actively contribute to the welfare of the community at large.

Australian Qualifications Framework
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a single national, comprehensive system of qualifications offered by higher education institutions (including universities), vocational education and training institutions and secondary schools. Each AQF qualification has a set of descriptors which define the type and complexity of knowledge, skills and application of knowledge and skills that a graduate who has been awarded that qualification has attained, and the typical volume of learning associated with that qualification type.

A Commonwealth supported place is where the Australian Government makes a contribution towards the cost of a students' higher education and students pay a , which varies depending on the courses undertaken. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the .

Program structure
The Program entails four years of full-time study, during which time the student will complete 32 units, comprising 26 compulsory psychology, and statistics courses (28 units) and 4 elective courses (4 units).
Requirements to complete the program
Admission into the 4th year of the program is contingent upon students having completed the first 3 years of the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) program as well as maintaining an average Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 in their psychology courses across levels 1 to 3. For students who fail to meet these requirements please refer to the Exit Point section. To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) a candidate must complete or be exempted from courses with a total value of at least 32 units within 10 years of first admission to the program.

4th year courses:
Courses in the 4th year of the program are taught in two mandatory intensive workshop blocks each semester. Each block is usually of one week's duration per semester (i.e., there are two blocks of one week each per semester). Full-time and part-time students attend the same number of workshop days (i.e., 19 days) over the duration of the program, however, part-time students' attendance is dependent upon the courses they are enrolled in and the semester of enrolment. Students must be able to commit to attending multiple workshops. Some may be scheduled during the semester and some scheduled during the residential school period. The location (Ipswich or Toowoomba, or both) will be determined by the numbers of students. Refer to the .
Exit points
Those students who fail to maintain an average GPA of 5.0 in their psychology courses across levels 1 to 3 will not be permitted to enrol in the fourth year of the program and will be exited from the degree. Those students will graduate with a BSCI Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychology.
Honours
