The Bachelor of Laws has been accredited by the , and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland as an approved academic qualification under the Supreme Court (Admission) Rules 2004 (Qld). This will partially satisfy the requirements to practise as a solicitor or barrister in Queensland, or as a legal practitioner elsewhere in Australia. Intending solicitors and barristers must also complete an approved practical legal training course in order to become admitted to practise law. USQ does not offer practical legal training, but advice on practical legal training programs can be obtained through .
Program aims
The program aims to produce graduates who meet the aims and objectives of both the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Laws degree programs. This combined degree offers students the benefit of exposure to multiple disciplines.

If students commence the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws and wish to exit with a Bachelor of Arts , then they may do so if they have completed the Arts core course CMS1000 Communication and Scholarship , 2 Arts majors, 4 courses in Law constituting a minor study in Law and 3 electives. Students would however need to complete 2 additional Arts core courses, CSC1402 plus one core course from the list applicable to the Bachelor of Arts.
