Professional accreditation
The Bachelor of Health (Honours) does not have any professional accreditation.
Program aims
The Bachelor of Health (Honours) aims to commence the research training of students from a variety of health related disciplines including sport and exercise, paramedicine, biomedical science, medical laboratory science, human services, nursing and midwifery. Graduates who achieve a high level of Honours (either First Class or Second Class division A) would be eligible to apply for a Masters’ program, PhD or Doctor of Health at UniSQ and other universities.
Program objectives
On completion of the Bachelor of Health (Honours) students will be able to:

demonstrate proficiency in research skills including research planning and implementation, analysis, interpretation and evaluation of research data and the presentation and communication of research findings;

demonstrate knowledge and commitment to the ethical and social responsibilities associated with the conduct of research or a discipline project;

critically analyse, evaluate and transform information in their discipline area;
-
transmit advanced knowledge, skills and ideas to assist professionals with decision making processes.
Australian Qualifications Framework
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a single national, comprehensive system of qualifications offered by higher education institutions (including universities), vocational education and training institutions and secondary schools. Each AQF qualification has a set of descriptors which define the type and complexity of knowledge, skills and application of knowledge and skills that a graduate who has been awarded that qualification has attained, and the typical volume of learning associated with that qualification type.
This program is at AQF Qualification Level 08. Graduates at this level will have advanced knowledge and skills for professional or highly skilled work and/or further learning.

Admission requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

Completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Health or a related discipline, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0.

All students are required to satisfy the applicable .

Commonwealth supported place
A Commonwealth supported place is where the Australian Government makes a contribution towards the cost of a students' higher education and students pay a , which varies depending on the courses undertaken. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the .

The project courses provide students with the opportunity to conduct a minor research project or complete a professional practice project on a topic directly related to their discipline area. Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Health (Honours) will be provided with further information about project selection with their offers.

Semester 1 entry - recommended enrolment pattern
Approval from the Program Director (of the relative discipline) must be obtained before undertaking external study.
Students may commence their studies in either Semester 1 or Semester 2.
Students must have supervisory approval before beginning their studies. Students need to contact the Program Coordinator (of the relative discipline) to identify a potential Honours supervisor. Incoming students can be put in contact with the Program Director by emailing usq.support@usq.edu.au.
