Program aims
This program aims to produce high quality health professionals who are able to contribute to public health practice and research. An integrated approach to teaching the five main public health disciplines: biostatistics; epidemiology; environmental health; health policy and management; and social and behavioural sciences; are taught in three core courses. Each of the core courses includes the topics related to public health by scaffolding the content and complexity of knowledge and outcomes. Upon completion of the program students will have knowledge related to the following competencies: health monitoring and surveillance; disease prevention and control; health promotion; health protection; health policy, planning and management (health systems); and evidence-based professional population health practice.
Program objectives
On completion of the program, graduates should be able to:

Critically evaluate the scope of contemporary public health practice within an interdisciplinary context.

Function effectively as a team member including behaving in an ethical and culturally safe manner when interacting with clients, other professionals and the broader community.

Communicate ways of working respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities in public health practice, and culturally and linguistically diverse peoples and communities.

Strategically utilise skills and theoretical knowledge to evaluate and communicate health information.

Select and apply relevant health promotion and health protection concepts to promote population health through mediating, advocating, and enabling changes in behavioural, social, economic, cultural and physical environments.

Promote efficient and equitable gains in population health by advocating appropriate policy, legislation, regulation, governance and/or fiscal measures.
Australian Qualifications Framework
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a single national, comprehensive system of qualifications offered by higher education institutions (including universities), vocational education and training institutions and secondary schools. Each AQF qualification has a set of descriptors which define the type and complexity of knowledge, skills and application of knowledge and skills that a graduate who has been awarded that qualification has attained, and the typical volume of learning associated with that qualification type.
This program is at AQF Qualification Level 08. Graduates at this level will have advanced knowledge and skills for professional or highly skilled work and/or further learning.

Admission requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

Completion of a three-year or four-year bachelor degree in the area of health, or equivalent, with a GPA > 4.8;
OR -
Completion of a university three-year or four-year bachelor degree in a different discipline with a GPA > 4.8, and completion of one year of full-time work experience in a healthcare setting;
OR -
Completion of UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Public Health with a GPA > 4.8.

English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 3.
All students are required to satisfy the applicable .
If students do not meet the English language requirements they may apply to study a 精东传媒app-approved . On successful completion of the English language program, students may be admitted to an award program.

The Graduate Diploma of Public Health consists of 8 units comprised of:

Program completion requirements
To be eligible to graduate, students must complete all components of the program (8 units) with a passing grade for each course.
Electives/Approved courses
Students are required to undertake one (1) elective course. This course must contribute to the knowledge and skills required of public health practitioners, and approved by the Masters of Public Health Program Director.

Students who graduate with the Graduate Diploma of Public Health are eligible to apply for MPUH Master of Public Health .
Exit points
Students may exit with a GCPU Graduate Certificate of Public Health provided they have met the requirements within the program structure of the GCPU Graduate Certificate of Public Health .
