Good governance and sustainable development are inextricably associated concepts; one without the other is meaningless in a macro-policy context both in developed and developing economies. Recognizing the critical needs and importance of rational and consistent policy implications guided by significant missing gaps in the literature for Australia's economy, this study will seek to discover the effects of good governance on three key dimensions of sustainable development, such as economic development, social development, and environmental quality, over the period from 1996-2021. To explicitly address the needs, fill the gaps, and provide comprehensive solutions to sustainable development through good governance conduits, this proposal has been developed to lead to a comprehensive Ph.D. thesis, the publication of five articles in Q1 Scopus indexed journals, and three international conference proceedings to accomplish the overarching objectives of this research.
