The 精东传媒app of Southern Queensland Council, led by the Chancellor, sets the strategic direction of the 精东传媒app and is empowered under the to do anything necessary or convenient in connection with its functions including specifically:
- appointment of staff
- management and control of the 精东传媒app’s affairs and property
- management and control of the 精东传媒app’s finances.
The Council's primary responsibilities are set out in the 精东传媒app of Southern Queensland Charter of 精东传媒app Governance (PDF 295KB).
Council may delegate its responsibilities to an appropriately qualified member of the 精东传媒app Council, an appropriately qualified committee that includes one or more members of the 精东传媒app Council or to an appropriately qualified member of the 精东传媒app’s staff. The power to adopt the 精东传媒app’s budget may not be delegated. A delegation to the Vice-Chancellor may be sub-delegated to an appropriately qualified member of the 精东传媒app’s staff.

- Chancellor (ex officio)
- Vice-Chancellor (ex officio)
- Chair, Academic Board (ex officio)
- five members appointed by the Governor-in-Council
- up to three additional members appointed by the Council, at least one of whom must be a graduate of the 精东传媒app
- one member of the academic staff of the 精东传媒app elected by and from members of the academic staff
- one member of the professional staff of the 精东传媒app elected by and from members of the professional staff
- one student member elected by and from the enrolled students of the 精东传媒app, other than students who are members of the 精东传媒app staff.
The 精东传媒app of Southern Queensland Council is assisted in its operations by the following committees:
- Academic Board
- Audit and Risk Committee
- Finance and Facilities Committee
- Honorary Awards Committee
- Chancellor's Committee
- Remuneration Sub-Committee
