Rationale
The course is designed to introduce and develop critical and creative skills and relate them to specific discipline areas
Synopsis
The course introduces historical and theoretical approaches to critical and creative thought through a variety of contexts and debates in order to develop the critical and creative thought processes of the student, including the application of this process to practical tasks relevant to specific student requirements.
Objectives
On successful completion of this course students will have:
- an ability to identify key transitional moments in the history of creative thought;
- a demonstrated ability to identify critical and creative thought processes through practical examples;
- a demonstrated ability to critically reflect, and creatively develop theoretical and practical tasks in a collaborative context where appropriate.

Requirements for students to complete each assessment item satisfactorily:
To successfully complete an individual assessment item, a student must achieve at least 50% of the marks or a grade of at least C-. This statement must be read in conjunction with Statement 4 below. -
