Rationale

Each musician is ultimately individually responsible for the quality of the technical and musical skills they bring to any musical situation. The individual practice of music is vital to acquiring and developing these skills. The ability to articulate a framework for practice and work consistently is crucial to any musician’s development and for establishing a pattern for lifelong learning.

Synopsis

Students continue to develop a framework for productive, meaningful and relevant independent practice as initiated in MUI3020. Through classes, lessons and online activities, students are guided to work independently to establish and achieve their musical and technical goals.

1. Attendance requirements:
   
   Students must attend and complete the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety training program for this course where required.
   
   External and Online:
   There are no attendance requirements for this course. However, it is the students’ responsibility to study all material provided to them or required to be accessed by them to maximise their chance of meeting the objectives of the course and to be informed of course-related activities and administration.
   
   On-campus:

2. Requirements for students to complete each assessment item satisfactorily:
   
   To satisfactorily complete an individual assessment item a student must achieve at least 50% of the marks.
