Pre-requisite: Successfully completed 1st and 2nd year courses and is presently enrolling in S1, 3rd year studies.
Rationale
This course exists to satisfy the need for some flexibility in several programs to cater for the widely varying interests and chosen specializations of students. It will provide a capstone experience for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Psychology Extended Major). Participation in this course can assist in preparing students for job searches and/or post-graduate studies.
Synopsis
This course provides the opportunity for a student to pursue an area of study that will complement the other studies in the student's program. Typically the course will consist of specialised investigations extending knowledge and skills in a certain area. The studies could involve, for example, directed readings, extension of the project (where appropriate), or some other approved activity
which would complement the student's studies in the program.
Objectives
On successful completion of this course students will be able to:

To complete each of the assessment items satisfactorily, students must obtain at least 50% of the marks available for each assessment item. -

Requirements for student to be awarded a passing grade in the course:
To be assured of receiving a passing grade a student must achieve at least 50% of the total weighted marks available for the course. Note that the Conceded Pass is not available in this course due to APAC accreditation. -

The final grades for students will be assigned on the basis of the weighted aggregate of the marks (or grades) obtained for each of the summative assessment items in the course. -
