Rationale

Working in supervised groups, students will be tasked with producing a short live performance outcome. Students will be required to progress through creative and interpretive processes and roles in producing their final work. The work will need to conform to a limited time turn-around period in the final performance outcome.

Synopsis

Working in supervised groups, students will be tasked with producing a short live performance. Students will be required to progress through management/administration, production, creative and interpretive processes and roles in producing the final work. The productions will have limited production values and will need to conform to a limited turn-around period in the performance season.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course students should be able to:

  1. apply fundamental principles, techniques and concepts to known and unknown situations with some direction (TLO3);
  2. use their prior experiences to work collaboratively and independently within a professional work environment (TLO5);
  3. employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to creative-decision making, planning, production and post-production processes (TL02);
  4. explore the practice, languages, forms, materials, technologies and techniques in the theatre arts (TLO1).
