Rationale

Students preparing for professional careers as performers, production or creative staff in the entertainment industry need a broad range of skills and knowledge necessary to operate autonomously, interdependently or in a leadership capacity within the organisational structures and procedures utilized by live event and digital recording work environs.

Synopsis

Commensurate with individual career aspirations developed through study in previous courses, students enrolled in this course will either be assigned to performance-oriented project work employing digital technologies or to project work requiring the development and application of skills and processes involved in time, resource and personnel management across a variety of creative work environs.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course students should be able to:

  1. explore ways of working with recent and emerging technologies relevant to their field of practice (TLO1);
  2. gather and interpret data to inform judgements on artistic, practicable, social, scientific, or ethical issues that relate to their field of practice (TLO2);
  3. assess and apply fundamental principles, concepts and techniques to develop the processes required to achieve project outcomes and goals relevant to their field and role of practice (TLO3);
  4. communicate their ideas OR performance to diverse collaborators and/or audience (TLO4);
  5. work independently and collaboratively within diverse contexts as required to achieve project research and management outcomes (TLO5).
