Overview

This optional course is designed to allow students to pursue an industry (or comparable) project to articulate knowledge in an organisational setting so that Cyber Security skills leading to employment can be demonstrated. In particular, this course provides students the freedom to undertake a project relevant to their workplace or area of interest in the domain of Cyber Security.

This course requires students to undertake a practical Cyber Security project conducted in an industry (or a comparable) setting with their project area as guided by their academic supervisor(s). Students will discuss the project with the Course Examiner, then along with the supervisory team agree on the exact format of their project, due dates and a schedule of supervision and associated deliverables. It is imperative that students work with an appropriate team of supervisors and obtain their approval and ability to supervise the project prior to the start of the semester of study. As part of this process students should be able to outline a substantial project brief that incorporates significant project issues as well as providing practical experiences relevant to their career development. The project may be either sponsored by the student's employer or independently canvassed by students. The project background work will identify the major issues associated with the project and provide a basis for the conduct of the project. Enrolment for this course is limited and is subject to the availability of a supervisor. This project is normally taken in the final semester of the study.
