Overview
The ability to manage self is fundamental to facilitating the translation of your learning into high performance for both you and your organisation. Increasingly, professionals will cycle more rapidly through different organisations and roles, with the expectation that they will build on their attributes and capabilities and manage their limitations to successfully transfer them to new workplace environments. Leveraging your leadership identity is about understanding yourself, your personal attributes and capabilities, your values and your limitations. As a strategic leader you need to recognise the contextual nature of leadership and that your leadership approach should be adjusted in different situations to achieve the desired outcome.  Creating a personal brand that reflects your leadership identity is more than just a marketing gimmick. It involves recognising how to translate that brand into actions and behaviours that result in effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to provide the best outcomes for you and your organisation.
This course is fundamental to your learning journey through the MBA as it provides the foundation for the whole program. You will begin the course by considering what it means to think strategically and how leveraging your leadership identity is part of being a strategic leader. You will have the opportunity to identify your personal attributes and capabilities, your personality, your values and your limitations and recognise how they shape your leadership identity. You will use this awareness to develop a contextually appropriate approach to leadership and a personal brand that reflects your leadership identity. You will draw from key leadership theories and styles to understand, strengthen and leverage your leadership identity through your personal brand.
