Overview

Effective business processes and robust information systems are becoming increasingly critical to the achievement of an organisation’s vision and goals. Leaders need an awareness of system design principles, business process theories and methodologies to solve issues in workflow design, systems integration and cost monitoring. Balancing the obligations for information and system security is increasingly challenging for leaders in contemporary digital environments. Knowledge of business processes and systems design will enable leaders to mitigate against over-engineering, poor-quality data, duplication of effort and cost inefficiencies.

This course is focussed on developing your capabilities to lead and oversee organisational systems and processes that are fit for purpose. Effective systems and process development is contingent on the analysis of complex information incorporating knowledge of how the parts of a business work together. You will learn to drive business process improvements that eliminate waste and maximise efficiency. Theories related to design thinking, business analysis and agile methodologies will provide you with a solid foundation from which to build your capabilities in this area. You will also consider issues related to information and digital security in systems used by the organisation.
