Overview
This placement course enables students to experience wine industry workplace learning where they apply their knowledge and skills to real life situations and develop further wine industry relevant practical skills. It is envisioned that the work experience will enhance the student's employment prospects in this industry.
This course provides students with an opportunity to gain relevant experience in a real-life industry relevant to their major. Content will vary depending upon the workplace, allowing student to apply their learning to a variety of contexts. Students will be required to write a job application letter and curriculum vitae and to complete written reflections.
This course requires students to attend work placement of at least 15 days' duration. Students are required to find their own placement.
Course learning outcomes
On completion of this course students should be able to:
- apply appropriate skills and knowledge in a professional workplace environment;
- effectively use written and verbal workplace communication skills to interact with a range of audiences;
- function effectively as a member of a professional workplace team and contribute positively to workplace outcomes;
- identify rudimentary problems in the workplace and suggest viable solutions.
