Overview

Organisations require leaders who are capable of addressing and responding to cyber security threats and challenges. This course is aimed at introducing and developing management and executive perspectives and governance capabilities of the cyber security leaders of today and the future.

This course explores the management and leadership of cyber security in teams, organisational strategies and enterprise initiatives. Cyber security function management, effective governance, and executive communication knowledge, skills and practices are developed to enable you to research, contribute to, and continuously improve the executive leadership and governance cyber security function. In this course you will use real world scenarios to identify and solve problems, develop and communicate recommendations for specialist and/or non-specialist audiences.

Course learning outcomes

  1. apply specialised knowledge to the organisational roles relating to cyber security management and governance;
  2. analyse critically, reflect on and synthesise complex issues, information, problems, concepts and theories relating to the implementation of cyber security strategies and continuous improvement in the function and governance;
  3. examine and apply specialist knowledge and skills in implementing a cyber security governance function;
  4. research and review sources of specialist knowledge relating to cyber security governance and management, and recommend how these can be applied towards improving organisational cyber security strategy;
  5. interpret, articulate and communicate complex issues relating to cyber security governance, management and improvement to achieve targeted outcomes to either a specialist and/or non-specialist audience.
