Overview

Cyber resilience is about making robust business decisions based on critical examination of the challenges with designing, implementing, and evaluating critical cyber security functions in an organisation. This course explores various best practice principles underpinning cyber security resilience in organisations and develops your comprehension and application of cyber resilience methodologies leading to best practices.

This course explores key methodologies and practices that should be followed by organisations to achieve cyber resilience. In doing so, the course explores relevant strategies required by organisations to take appropriate and relevant management decisions so that cyber incidents are properly understood and controls are built to resist incidents. Further, to comply with regulatory frameworks, the course introduces you to key cyber security standards and frameworks so that you understand and appreciate the reporting sequences to enable and manage cyber resilience in organisations. The assessment activities in the course are undertaken and completed in a team environment and require all to research, design and present advice on complex issues related to maintaining cyber security and business continuity.

Course learning outcomes

On completion of this course students should be able to:

  1. Critically examine the challenges and benefits associated with planning, designing and implementing cyber resilience programs for improved cyber security and business continuity;
  2. Analyse the principles and best practices that underpin cyber resilience strategies;
  3. Build professional standing by researching and evaluating ideas from a variety of sources to communicate professionally in written form to a broad range of audiences;
  4. Collaborate with others and orally communicate complex issues relating to industry practices in applying and maintaining cyber security standards, frameworks and compliance in cyber resilience programs.
