Overview
This course prepares you for your first professional experience placement of 10 days, as a pre-service educator in an Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary educational context. You will be introduced to beginning teaching and pedagogical theories, and strategies aimed at supporting you to become a professional educational practitioner.
You will consider learning environments, communication strategies and site, system, curriculum and legislative requirements. This course will support you at the beginning of your Professional Experience Placement and provide opportunities for reflection, development of your professional teacher identity and developing positive relationships with children/students, teachers, parents/carers and communities.
This course contains a 10-day Professional Experience Placement. Students need to pass the competency Assessment in this Course and reach a total passing Mark of 50% to be awarded a passing Grade in this course. Failure of the Professional Experience component will result in a fail grade for the course, regardless of the graded mark. Full details of the Professional Experience particulars can be found on the Professional Experience website and in the Professional Experience Book.
