Overview
This course has been designed to allow selected students in the Master of Arts degree to complete an extended 30,000 word thesis or an extended practice-led research project with 20,000 word exegesis that would comprise 50% of their degree comprising the units MAR8003, MAR8004 and MAR8008. Students will use this course to undertake independent learning under the guidance of a supervisor.
This 2-unit course enables selected students enrolled in the Masters to complete under supervision an extended 30,000 word thesis or an extended practice-led research project with 20,000 word exegesis. This course is a continuation of the work commenced in MAR8003 and MAR8004.
Course learning outcomes
On successful completion of this course students should be able to:
- undertake independent research, under supervision, on a proposed topic;
- review the literature relevant to a selected topic;
- research and report on a sustained topic in the relevant disciplinary field;
- devise, develop and sustain lengthy but sound argument;
- print, edit and present in publishable form a completed thesis, or project and exegesis ready for submission to the examiners.
