Overview

A key skill required of Clinical Psychologists is the ability to accurately and efficiently assess and diagnose psychopathology across the lifespan. Clinical Psychologists are expected to be proficient in the use of classification systems such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, including having consolidated knowledge of diagnostic processes, and diagnostic criteria for common mental health conditions. To provide effective intervention, Clinical Psychologists must be able to develop effective treatment plans which are grounded in comprehensive case formulations aligned to the clinical diagnosis.

The aim of this course is to enable students undertaking studies in Clinical Psychology to advance their knowledge and skills of diagnostic assessment and clinical formulation.
