Synopsis

This course provides an introduction to the common conditions that affect adults to middle age. This course will investigate the epidemiology, aetiology and pathophysiology of major cardiovascular, pulmonary, musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, renal, mental and cancer conditions commonly found in clinical populations from adults to middle age. Appropriate knowledge and skills will provide expert exercise assessment and testing, prescription of exercise interventions, and monitoring of a client's progression throughout the prescribed exercise programs. Additionally, this course will build a resource for students' fundamental and generic skills that underpins an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

This course contains a mandatory residential school for external students and mandatory on-campus workshops for on-campus students.
