Synopsis

This course provides an introduction to the common conditions that affect people in their middle age to later years. This course addresses the epidemiology, aetiology and pathophysiology of major cardiovascular, pulmonary, musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, renal, cancer, and mental health conditions commonly found in clinical populations from middle age to later years. Applicable knowledge and skills will provide expert exercise assessment and testing, prescription of exercise interventions, and monitoring of clients' progress throughout prescribed exercise.

This course contains a mandatory residential school at the Ipswich campus for external students and mandatory on-campus workshops for on-campus students.
