Overview

Integrated construction management represents the experience of working as part of a team of construction personnel responsible for the design and construction of a project. Students require experience in researching and working in teams for all stages of a construction project utilising computer software programs, to demonstrate integrated management processes and success in management of construction teams and projects.

The aim of this course is to provide an in-depth understanding of procedures and processes adopted to manage construction business operations including project and production management operations in an integrated manner to improve the planning and control, performance and predictability, productivity and buildability of construction to achieve project success, facilitated by the use of computer software and building information modelling. The importance of teamwork, meetings, communication, and collaborative work arrangements will also be explored for achieving project success including the use of advanced procurement techniques.
