Overview

Students entering this course will need to develop their academic vocabulary, numeracy skills and quantitative literacy in order to meet the needs of their future discipline. This course will effectively prepare students from non-English speaking backgrounds with the requisite mathematical skills needed to succeed in their 精东传媒app studies while undertaking a specialisation from Business/Commerce, Indigenous Community Development, Creative Arts or Social Science. Students will understand and interpret quantitative information, and reason with numerical data to enable them to pursue their specialisation courses and continue on with their tertiary degree programs. Students will apply their communication skills and think critically to engage with learning activities and assessment tasks as they develop their competency with, and comprehension of, quantitative language throughout the course.

The course will be comprised of a sequence of modules designed to develop mathematical competency required for success in their professional specialisation courses. Students will have the opportunity to practice reading, writing, speaking, listening, numeracy and reasoning skills prior to assessment.
