This is a core course in the Juris Doctor program. [Together with LAW5113 Advanced Contract and Torts A] it is approved by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board (Qld) and the Chief Justice of Queensland as meeting the contracts area of knowledge under the Supreme Court (Admission) Rules 2004 (Qld) and therefore deals with elements of Contracts, specifically: content and construction of contract; vitiating factors; discharge; and remedies.

This course continues to expand the students' knowledge of contract law. This course will build upon the understanding of the principles of the law of contract gained in LAW5113 Advanced Contract and TortsA. Specifically the aim of this course is to equip students with further knowledge of the law concerning the content of a legally enforceable contract as well as the manner in which contracts are interpreted, vitiating factors, the manner in which contracts may be performed or discharged, and the legal remedies available in the event of a breach or non-performance of a contract. Students will also further develop their research skills.
