Overview

PMC1000 Applied Pathology is an opportunity for students to further develop their knowledge of the effects of disease and injury on the human body. It builds upon the anatomy and physiology content presented in BIO1203 and provides the foundational knowledge required to understand clinical presentations in practice.

Pathology is the scientific study of disease processes. It encompasses knowledge of functional and structural changes in the body both at a cellular and systemic level. An understanding of aetiology, pathogenesis and morphological change that occurs as a result of a disease are presented in this course. Key aspects of pathology as required in paramedic practice are addressed.
