Overview

The existence of childhood maltreatment and the extent to which it occurs can be influenced by the society in which it is occurring. The broader context either increases the risk of harm for children or builds protective environments for them. While professionals in many workplaces have a direct role in creating child safety, this course will also examine how this issue can be tackled at a number of different levels.

This minicourse will help students identify and understand the range of ecological factors and contexts that influence the wellbeing and safety of a child. This knowledge will help students create an effective strategy to establish a protective environment.

Please be advised that this minicourse is made up of four parts please see EDU5325 for the full course specification.
