Grading basis : Graded
Course fee schedule : /current-students/administration/fees/fee-schedules

Requisites

Pre-requisite: ELE4605 or Students must be enrolled in one of the following Programs: MENS or MEPR or GCNS or GDNS

Overview

Students who have completed an undergraduate degree in the electrical engineering discipline would have a reasonable understanding of Maxwell's Laws. They would have applied those laws to solve problems involving relatively simplified geometries. The aim of this course is further development of the student's skills so that they can use state of the art software tools to analyse and design practical electrical and electromagnetic technology such as bushings, transformers, and high frequency equipment.

The course consists of three parts: electrostatic modelling, low frequency electromagnetic modelling and high frequency electromagnetic modelling. As an example assessment will include (but is not limited to) bushing design, power transformer design, antenna design and EMI shielding.
