Overview
With a multitude of employment options available upon graduation, and the need to explicitly link university study to industry and the reality of the workplace, it is critical you develop skills and knowledge to future-proof your career. This course will help you to develop personal agency and career resilience to effectively navigate and refresh your employment goals well after graduation. It will also explore ethical industry practice to develop professional accountability and reputation.
This first year course aims to provide you with the necessary skills to plan and future proof your career journey, whether you are a school leaver, career changer or mature age entrant looking to study and earn from your passion. You will learn key skills to broaden your self-awareness and career identity, conduct labour market research and examine industry professional standards and ethical practices early in your degree for application in other courses. Your major assessment will be to develop a career plan aligned to a chosen area of professional interest and identifying areas for continued learning. The course will be delivered through lectures, collaborative discussions, and portfolio development.
