Overview
This is the capstone course for the Master of Business program and must be completed as the final course in the program. This course provides the opportunity for potential graduates to demonstrate that they have curated a well-rounded ability to pursue business specialist careers in leadership or advisory roles. To meet the employability demands of industry, graduates are expected to contribute value to organisations. For this reason, employers hire graduates who have been primed to function effectively in terms of the human capabilities and skills required to solve problems, communicate, and work collaboratively in and across organisations. The digital revolution requires business graduates to possess the appetite for harnessing technology and continually developing digital dexterity to leverage accessibility and productivity in their workplaces. Meanwhile, organisational, societal, and global stakeholders expect graduates to fulfill their roles morally and ethically, and to operate as credible influencers to build sustainable social, environmental, and economic value. In summary, these human capabilities, enterprise skills and personal responsibilities are mandatory requirements that complement the specialist expertise that a graduate brings to their organisation and more broadly to society.
You will be required to undertake research into a real-world business project that involves addressing real problems and needs for an industry or community organisation. Subject to enrolment numbers, you will collaborate to research and present advice regarding an organisational business problem. Once your team has been assigned their business problem, you will collaborate to review the literature, engage with relevant organisational stakeholders to undertake preliminary fact-finding necessary to develop and recommend ethical and sustainable solution(s) that demonstrate specialist knowledge. This project work has a concurrent reflective practice component requiring you to autonomously reflect on your cognitions and experiences post the collaborative project as evidence of a growth mindset associated your professional practice.
