Overview
Health Professionals work in extreme, stressful and dynamic environments. These environments require professional practice and leadership skills to deal with the demands of the profession. Practice and Leadership for Health Professionals will enable students to develop as a professional leader and coach that is not only recognised within their own discipline but from a multidiscipline perspective across healthcare organisations.
Practice and Leadership for Health Professionals will prepare students for employment in healthcare services and organisations. Students will have the opportunity to apply previously acquired knowledge and skills to practice as a professional and leader. Students will gain knowledge of leadership theories, frameworks and principles. Students will integrate knowledge previously gained in situations such as mentoring, coaching and communicating with others, particularly in a difficult environment, Practice and Leadership for Health Professionals will inform students of the role and importance of clinical governance and professional competencies within professional practice.
