Paramedic Placement 4 provides students with their fourth and final practical placement opportunity. This placement is the opportunity to hone the application of their skill and knowledge under supervision of a qualified paramedic. This course provides a capstone experience in the paramedic program.

This course is a competency-based course, and assessment items must be successfully completed to pass the course. These competency items form part of the UniSQ accreditation agreement with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

This course contains a mandatory on-campus post placement residential school. To pass this course, students must attend the residential school. Students' non-compliance with the attendance requirement will mean the student cannot pass the course. This will be held after the completion of the clinical placement block.

During the fourth placement of five weeks, students will be expected to perform as an integral third crew member and significantly contribute to clinical decision making and treatment decisions as well as actively participate in the patient care. Students will be expected to undertake many tasks independently while demonstrating a thorough knowledge and understanding of ambulance equipment, procedures, processes and documentation.
