Overview

Clinical psychologists work with a range of complex mental health presentations across the lifespan. Clinical Psychology practice benefits from clinicians having knowledge and skills across a range of therapeutic modalities, to be best positioned to select the intervention most suitable for their client. It is important that clinical psychologists demonstrate knowledge and skills relating to how to select an appropriate evidence-based treatment based on clinical presentation and case formulation. In addition, it is important that clinical psychologists demonstrate intervention skills and an ability to effectively apply intervention strategies across such treatments.

Students must be enrolled in the following Program: MCPS, MCPA. This course focuses on providing students with evidence-based treatments for complex mental health issues across the lifespan, across five skills-based workshops. Knowledge and skills are assessed via case conceptualisation and treatment planning, and clinical skills demonstration. Attendance at the on-campus workshops/residential schools are mandatory. Dates of the on-campus workshops/residential schools will be according to the 'Workshop Schedule' that will be emailed to students at the outset of the program.
