Overview
Outside broadcast production hires a significant number of people week by week for all kinds of events. The skills employed in this type of television or radio production are considerable. Directing, Producing, audio, camera and a range of technical and production skills required in this environment. The course will feature guest presenters from the industry and a range of practical local activities to build skills and knowledge.
TVR 2004 introduces the student to the outside broadcast production space. The student will be exposed to the variety of outside broadcast approaches. This includes the single camera live stream environment, Live radio crosses and full radio outside broadcasts and the comprehensive High Definition outside broadcast truck for television and radio. These are the outside broadcast units used for major sporting events, concerts and events.
Students will be involved in planning and delivering a range of outside broadcasts as part of the process to develop skills and knowledge from the use of the vision switcher, production elements, audio desk, tieline and tricaster industry level equipment. The student will be aware of the interconnectivity and workflow of the outside broadcast.
The student will experience the outside broadcast environment and the various applications within the broader industry. Internships, work placements and guest speakers will be part of this course. Our formal partnership with NEP Outside Broadcast production company ensures that students will be involved in a number of work placements. This provides an authentic aspect of the learning journey.
