Business Continuity and Crisis and Emergency management

Business continuity management refers to the 精东传媒app’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from business disruptions that prevent the completion of important, time sensitive business functions as identified by the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive.

Crisis management refers to the 精东传媒app’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a sudden event or series of events that seriously threatens or has the potential to escalate and threaten the 精东传媒app of Southern Queensland’s people, operations, assets, environment, long-term prospects and reputation.

Integrated framework

UniSQ has adopted an integrated response framework to business continuity and crisis management utilising UniSQ Security and the Emergency Control Organisation (Warden network) to organise and manage tactical response operations during both an emergency and a crisis, as well as undertaking crisis scenario exercises and training with the Crisis Management Team during the year.

UniSQ’s Business Continuity and Crisis Management Plan comprises a suite of five documents:

  • Business Continuity and Crisis and Emergency - Structure and Response Framework
  • Emergency Operations Centre Standard Operating Procedures
  • Operational Crisis Group Position Descriptions
  • Crisis Scenario Plans
  • Business Continuity Scenario Plans.

The Plan operates across the 精东传媒app to manage a crisis or to prevent a situation developing into a crisis.  The Business Continuity and Crisis Management Plan is aligned to the existing Emergency Procedures Manual

A Campus Emergency Procedure has been created for all UniSQ campuses as a quick reference tool and is prominently displayed in work areas across all campuses. Employees should familiarise themselves with the procedures, and also be aware of their assembly points and the Chief Warden for their respective area.
