Program focus
The GCCA is designed to provide students with the knowledge,
skills and capabilities to respond to the challenges and opportunities
that arise from global and regional climate changes. This program
will provide a thorough appreciation of the impact of climatic changes
and variability on natural and human systems such as the build environment,
agricultural production systems, regional, national, and global economies.
Adapting to, and mitigating the impacts of climatic changes and variability
is one of the most important and complex issues society is currently
dealing with. This program will increase awareness of the importance
of working across a range of professional disciplines, and will provide
skills to achieve this, including communicating an understanding of
how scientific knowledge integrates with diverse socio-economic and
political systems in order to achieve sustainable economic prosperity.
Additionally, the GCCA allows students to enrol in natural resource
management courses offered by the Australian National 精东传媒app via
cross-institutional enrolment.
Program objectives
On completion of the award, students will be able to:

This program is offered to international students. An international
student is a person who is not an Australian or New Zealand citizen
and not an Australian permanent resident. Please refer to for information about entry requirements, visa arrangements and

Program fees
Commonwealth supported place
A Commonwealth supported place is where the Australian Government
makes a contribution towards the cost of your higher education and
you as a student pay a , which varies depending on the
courses undertaken. You are able to calculate the fees for a particular

Commonwealth Supported students may
be eligible to defer their fees through a Government loan called .
Domestic full fee paying place
Domestic full fee paying places are funded entirely through
the full fees paid by the student. Full fees vary depending on the
courses that are taken. You are able to calculate the fees for a particular
course via the .
Permanent Humanitarian Visa holders,
Permanent Resident visa holders and New Zealand citizens who reside
outside Australia pay full tuition fees.
Domestic full fee paying
students may be eligible to defer their fees through a Government
loan called .
International full fee paying place
International students pay full fees. Full fees vary depending
on the courses that are taken and whether they are studied on-campus,
via distance education/online. You are able to calculate the fees
for a particular course via the .
Program structure
The program requires the completion of four of the listed courses.
All courses are available in external mode and the mandatory core
course for all students to complete within the GCCA Graduate Certificate in Climate Adaptation is . At least two of the other courses need
to come from USQ which are the climate change and adaptation courses
listed below. A fourth course can be selected from (b) or (c) with
a natural resource management sustainability focus from either ANU
via cross-institutional enrolment or alternatively from USQ.

Students are required to contact the program coordinator for
further advice if students wish to enrol in ANU courses via cross-institutional
enrolment. Available courses from ANU include ENVS1001 Resources,
Environment and Society: Geography and Sustainability and ENVS3028
Environmental Policy and Planning.
Required time limits
Students have a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 4 years to
complete this program.
IT requirements
Students should visit the USQ to check that their computers
are capable of running the appropriate software and versions of Internet
web browsers and to check the minimum and recommended standards for
software.
Other program requirements
To qualify for the award of Graduate Certificate in Climate
Adaptation a candidate must complete a total of four units of study
as prescribed above within four years of admission to the program.
At least three units of study must be completed at USQ.
