Program aims
Demand for professional education and training is increasing.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning is
designed to enable educators in the tertiary sector who already have
a degree or diploma, to acquire a recognised education qualification.
The criterion-oriented program design focuses on the knowledge, skills,
performance competencies and attributes necessary for tertiary educators
to develop their planning, instruction, assessment, evaluation and
program design capabilities to a high standard.
Program objectives
On the successful completion of the Postgraduate Certificate
in Tertiary Teaching and Learning, the student will be able to:

design, implement and evaluate programs of instruction which
meet the needs of the learners in the student's particular context
within a tertiary teaching organisation
-
demonstrate an ability to select and implement teaching and
learning strategies appropriate to a given tertiary education context
-
assess, analyse and report on learning outcomes in line with
accepted guidelines for assessment and measurement in tertiary teaching
organisations
-
engage in self evaluation processes and formulate plans of action
for continuous improvement in teaching and learning
-
construct an evidence-based portfolio to demonstrate a commitment
to continuous improvement in tertiary teaching and learning.
Admission requirements
To be eligible for enrolment in this program, an applicant must:
-
hold a recognised undergraduate university degree or three-year
diploma, or equivalent post-compulsory qualifications
-
be engaged in, or have access to, an appropriate teaching environment;
in an approved setting in the tertiary education sector (written verification
of such engagement is required before enrolment is confirmed.
In order to satisfy the requirements of the core course , students are required
to identify and work with a suitable mentor approved by the Faculty
of Business, Education, Law and Arts.
Important Note: Working with Children: State law in Queensland
requires that all adults (including 精东传媒app students, pre-service
educators, trainers, vocational teachers, industry educators) working
with children under the age of 18, in the State of Queensland *, obtain approval before commencing such work. Many education courses
include a professional component (professional experience, project
work, research, assessment, etc.) that may require engagement with
children under the age of 18. It is your responsibility to ensure
that you possess a current suitability card (Blue Card) before commencing
any professional components of this program. Do Not Participate
in any professional experience with Children under 18 unless you possess

Domestic full fee paying places are funded entirely through
the full fees paid by the student. Full fees vary depending on the

on the courses that are taken and whether they are studied on-campus,

Program structure
It is the students' responsibility to ensure correct enrolment
in the program structure to meet graduation requirements. The program
consists of four units - two Core Studies in education and two Professional

Students have a maximum of 3 years to complete this program.
Articulation
Under certain circumstances, students completing the Postgraduate
Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning (depending on electives
studied), may be able to partially articulate their studies into Masters
degrees offered in Education at USQ.

Students are able to enrol in any offered mode of a course (on-campus,
distance education or online), regardless of the program mode of study
they enrolled in.
