Major studies
Arts studies
The Arts component shall comprise:

at least one seven course discipline based major from the majors available under the Bachelor of Arts with at least two units at third year level

a four course /minor study chosen from Arts majors and minors

three courses of electives from Arts courses, preferably selected from the major or minor study.
Commerce studies
The commerce component will comprise eight units from the Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Finance or General Commerce majors.
Recommended enrolment pattern
Students are able to enrol in any offered mode of a course (on-campus, external or online), regardless of the program mode of study they enrolled in.

Student enrolment patterns will vary according to choice of Commerce major but all students should enrol in ACC1101 Accounting for Decision-Makingin Semester 1, CIS1000 Information Systems Concepts and CMS1000 Communication and Scholarship in Semester 2.

The Arts major is usually started in Semester 1 of first year and continued in Semester 2 of first year while the Arts minor study is usually started in Semester 1 of second year.

The first course of the selected Commerce major is usually taken in Semester 2 of first year.

Students will usually also take at least one and preferably two of the Commerce core courses in Semester 1 of first year e.g. ACC1101 Accounting for Decision-Makingand MGT1000 Organisational Behaviour.
Note for continuing students
The program structure has been modified from 33 courses to 32 courses with a reduced weighting on the Commerce major and an increased weighting on the Arts component. Students may elect to follow either pattern subject to approval of the Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts.
