Program objectives
On successful completion of the English for Academic Purposes program, students should be able to:

Communicate using the English language in clear, simple, and connected spoken and written texts on familiar integrated academic content, with support at an emerging independent level.

Comprehend aural and written Standard English in structured integrated academic texts on familiar topics with some confidence, with support at an emerging independent level.

Apply the English language with support at an emerging independent level on familiar academic topics across a range of simple academic spoken and written genres.

Produce simple integrated academic texts in English on familiar topics for a range of academic purposes, showing routine use of organisational patterns, connectors, and cohesive devices with accuracy at an emerging independent level.
Australian Qualifications Framework
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a single national, comprehensive system of qualifications offered by higher education institutions (including universities), vocational education and training institutions and secondary schools. Each AQF qualification has a set of descriptors which define the type and complexity of knowledge, skills and application of knowledge and skills that a graduate who has been awarded that qualification has attained, and the typical volume of learning associated with that qualification type.
This program is at AQF Qualification Level 04. Graduates at this level will have theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for specialised and/or skilled work and/or further learning.

Admission requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

Resident status: students on international student visas or students from non-English speaking backgrounds resident in Australia

Minimum academic requirements: completion of senior secondary schooling in the home country or Year 12 in an Australian High School or completed 'A' levels.

English Language Entry Requirements:
EAP 1 - An entry level of IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
EAP 2 - An entry level of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
EAP 3 - An entry level of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
Program fees
International full fee paying place
International students pay full fees. Full fees vary depending on the courses that are taken and whether they are studied on-campus, external or online. Students are able to calculate the fees for a particular course via the .
Commonwealth supported fee exempt places
Domestic students who meet the below citizenship and residency requirements are eligible for a Commonwealth supported fee exempt place:

Program completion requirements
UniSQ English for Academic Purposes (EAPS) program completion requirements for articulation to UniSQ Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree programs.
Students wishing to apply for direct entry into undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs must meet the Students failing courses in EAPS English for Academic Purposes or not meeting the grades requirement for entry are required to retake those courses and seek recommendations from the Program Coordinator regarding a suitable pathway to gain entry to degree studies.
